Week 12 Student-Athlete of the Week: Athens Academy’s Tucker Rhodes

Tucker Rhodes, a 6-foot-4, 235-pound senior tight end, defensive end and long snapper at Athens Academy, is the scoutSMART Student-Athlete of the Week. Rhodes has a weighted GPA of 4.0 and an SAT score of 1430. He is a three-year starter on defense and a two-year starter on offense and helped the 9-1 Spartans win their second consecutive region title. In 10 games this season, he has 20 tackles, two tackles for losses and two fumble recoveries as well as 11 receptions for 239 yards and three touchdowns. Rhodes, who has committed to Columbia University, has the student government as a junior and senior and is a member of the Media Production Club. He is also a part of the robotics team and has been a member of the orchestra since the second grade. He is a member of the National Honor Society, the National Foreign Language Honor Society, and the Tri-M Music Honor Society and was named an AP Scholar with Honor. “Tucker is an exceptionally talented player and a great teammate who truly loves representing Athens Academy,” head coach Josh Alexander said “He consistently goes the extra mile to support his teammates and make the team better. Tucker has a bright future ahead, and I can’t wait to see all that he accomplishes.”
