Grayson QB to miss remainder of season after suffering injury in Week 2

Grayson quarterback Travis Burgess, the top-rated Georgia senior prospect at his position, announced Thursday morning on his X account that he will miss the rest of the season because of an injury suffered in last week’s 24-19 victory over Rabun Gap.

“Playing under the Friday night lights at Grayson these past two years has been the experience of a lifetime,” Burgess said. “Unfortunately, due to the injury I suffered last Friday, I won’t be able to finish out the season with my brothers on the field. It has been a blessing to represent Grayson, play in front of such amazing fans, and be coached by some of the best.”

Burgess is committed to North Carolina. He led Grayson to the Class 6A championship last season. Grayson is ranked No. 1 in 6A ahead of this weekend’s game against Alabama’s highest-rated team, Thompson.

Grayson is 2-0 despite playing its first two games without star linebackers Tyler Atkinson (Texas) and Anthony Davis (Ole Miss).
