Week 3 Student-Athlete of the Week: McIntosh’s Ian Fisher
Ian Fisher, a 6-foot-4, 290-pound senior offensive lineman at McIntosh, was a GHSF Daily preseason first-team all-state selection in Class 5A and is a two-time Fayette County Super 12 pick.
Week 3 Team of the Week: Perry
Perry achieved another milestone last week when it earned a 42-14 victory over then-No. 3 Jones County of Class 5A. That was the fifth top-10 team that Perry has beaten in three seasons but the highest-ranked opponent since 1998.
Week 3 Player of the Week: Dougherty’s Kameron Davis

Week 2 Student-Athlete of the Week: Brunswick’s Jayden Drayton
Jayden Drayton, a senior wide receiver at Brunswick, has a 4.2 GPA and has run for 103 yards and two touchdowns on 13 carries and caught four passes for 71 yards and a touchdown in the first two games.
Week 2 Team of the Week: Osborne
Osborne has had six football coaches since GHSF Daily started publication in 2009. Each time, when chronicling the state’s newly hired coaches, GHSF Daily has named Osborne the toughest job in its classification.
Week 2 Player of the Week: Troup’s Taeo Todd
Troup quarterback Taeo Todd rushed 1,457 yards as a freshman but was limited to four games as a sophomore because of a knee injury. Suffice it to say, he’s back. Now a junior, Todd has rushed for 371 yards and passed for 340 in two games while playing just six quarters.
Week 2 Offensive Line of the Week: Mary Persons
Mary Persons’ offensive line paved the way for 427 yards rushing, including a school-record 290 by preseason all-state RB Duke Watson, in a 41-28 victory over Spalding.
Week 1 Student-Athlete of the Week: North Forsyth’s Aiden Ruckh
Aiden Ruckh, a senior wide receiver at North Forsyth, has a 4.0 GPA and is one of the team’s leading returning receivers.

Columbia, a Class 2A DeKalb County school, went 8-4 last season and won its first playoff game in 24 years, but the Eagles were never ranked. That’s because they hadn’t scored a signature victory to earn it. Now, they have.
