Week 2 Team of the Week: Osborne

Osborne head coach Luqman Salam (left) and members of the team received the GHSF Daily state Player of the Week plaque during a celebration at the school on Aug. 31, 2022.

Osborne has had six football coaches since GHSF Daily started publication in 2009. Each time, when chronicling the state’s newly hired coaches, GHSF Daily has named Osborne the toughest job in its classification.

Luqman Salam, a Cobb County native and longtime Hillgrove defensive coordinator, took the job in 2021. This year, he hired his former boss, Phil Ironside, as his offensive coordinator.

That could be the winning hand as Osborne defeated Chattahoochee 42-13 last week and is 2-0 for the first time since 2001.

Osborne is GHSF Daily’s state Team of the Week. The award is sponsored by BSN Sports and Titan Electric.
