Week 4 Student-Athlete of the Week: Peachtree Ridge’s Tyson Sanford

Tyson Sanford, a senior cornerback at Peachtree Ridge is the scoutSMART Student-Athlete of the Week. Sanford, a three-year starter, Tyson anchors the Lions’ secondary with consistency and leadership. Off the field, he maintains a 3.62 GPA while taking AP courses. Sanford recently committed to Duke, choosing the Blue Devils over offers from Michigan State, Army, Harvard, Cincinnati and others. He’s also a standout on the track, clocking a 10.8 in the 100 meters. “Tyson is a phenomenal student-athlete who gets it done in the weight room, in the classroom and on the field,” head coach Matt Helmerich said. “He’s a great kid who comes from a great family.”
