Flag Football Player of the Week: Harris County’s Madalynn ‘Cricket’ Cauley

Madalynn “Cricket” Cauley, a senior quarterback and safety at Harris County, is GHSF Daily’s flag football player of the week. Leading a 7-1 team, Cauley has passed for 1,480 yards and 24 touchdowns, completing 70.4% of her attempts. She has rushed for 273 yards and five touchdowns. She has 19 flag pulls and three interceptions. Harris County is ranked No. 4 in Division I by MaxPreps. “Her impressive stats aside, the thing that makes her the player that she is is her desire to be the best teammate and leader that she can be, always putting the team over personal glory, while working tirelessly to improve for the good of the team,” Harris County coach Michael Kinsey said. “She isn’t just a player. She is a mentor who takes pride in watching her teammates get better and grow.” Cauley also is a starter on the girls basketball team and a member of Harris County’s Junior ROTC.
