Sports Turf Company, a specialty sports construction and surfacing company, is proud to announce the completion of the artificial turf football field at Red Devil Hill Athletic Complex for Jackson High School. Working alongside Parrish Construction, the project included an artificial turf football field, home bleachers, a two-story athletic accessory building, a baseball field house and dugouts.

The new artificial turf field at Red Devil Hill Athletic Complex features AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D3 Blend HD turf system, Brock Powerbase YSR shock pad, and BrockFILL. AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D3 Blend HS is a performance artificial turf system that combines slit film and monofilament fibers for optimum durability. The revolutionary Brock Powerbase YSR shock pad technology features large drainage channels, shock-absorbing structures and 25 millimeter thickness to improve player safety and provide more effective drainage. As the latest in alternative infills, BrockFILL is sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia. The unique properties of the wood infill decreases field temperatures and feels more natural with increased traction and footing for athletes.

“We’re honored that Jackson High School has entrusted us to not only renovate their facilities, but to look to us as the expert in athletic facility construction,” Sports Turf Company President Todd Wiggins said. “Jackson High School is setting a new standard by providing their student-athletes with the best of the best in terms of athletic facility surfacing. Sports Turf Company is constructing Seckinger High School’s artificial turf stadium field featuring a system that surpasses others in terms of safety, durability and performance. The Jaguars’ stadium is one of seven remaining Gwinnett County schools to receive renovations to their stadium before the 2022 season.

The artificial turf system, which includes a 10-year warranty, features AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D3 Decade turf system, Brock SP Series shock pad, and the organic infill BrockFILL. AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D3 Decade is a performance artificial turf system that combines slit film and monofilament fibers with a RootZone layer of texturized fibers for optimum durability and better shock absorbency. The Brock shock pad technology is specifically engineered to optimize safety for athletes during impacts to the surface. The infill, BrockFILL, is a highly engineered wood particle infill specifically designed to improve traction and reduce artificial turf heat. BrockFILL is the latest in alternative infills and is sustainably grown and harvested in Georgia.

In addition, Sports Turf Company is constructing Seckinger High School’s running track around their artificial turf stadium field. The eight-lane running track will feature Rekortan B synthetic track surfacing. Rekortan B, the single-layer 13 millimeter paved-in-place track system, is a durable and economical solution for high schools.
