Second-year Windsor Forest head coach steps down

C.J. Frazier resigned as Windsor Forest’s football coach for personal reasons, Savannah Chatham County Schools announced Tuesday. Athletic director Cam Turner will serve as coach the remainder of the season.

Dennis Knight of the Savannah Morning News reported that defensive coordinator Maurice Mack will oversee practices and game preparation.

Windsor Forest is 1-1 with a victory over Brantley County and a loss to Liberty County, the same results as last season. Windsor Forest was 3-7 in Frazier’s first season last year after going 3-17 the previous two seasons.

This is the second GHSA coaching change since the season began. Banks County fired Todd Winter after the first game and promoted offensive coordinator Mark Hollars on Aug. 25.
