Improvement Tracker: 9 winning coaches to be honored at GACA Coaches Luncheon
GHSF Daily’s Improvement Tracker standings are final, and the nine winners will be presented with awards in February at the GACA Coaches Luncheon in Macon. The Improvement Tracker, sponsored by Siemens and Formetco, has been a weekly GHSF Daily feature since August. It ranked the top five teams and their head coaches in each classification based on their improvement in the computer Maxwell Ratings, but with some exclusions. Only teams with winning records were listed. In the end, each team and coach also had to make the playoffs, finish top four in its region and improve playoff seeding or state playoff finish from the previous year to qualify. The objective was to recognize not only the challenge of improving a team but also making it relevant on the state level. Congratulations to the nine winners – Shelton Felton of Valdosta, Korey Mobbs of Jackson County, Kevin Barnes of Lithonia, Cap Burnett of North Clayton, Chuck Holland of Franklin County, Randy Crutchfield of Haralson County, Ron Duncan of Screven County, Tommy Lewis of Landmark Christian and J.T. Wall of John Milledge Academy.
