Teams that have gone the longest without being shut out
Colquitt County set a state record Friday night by scoring in its 228th consecutive game. Colquitt County lost the game to Lowndes 31-14 but passed Fitzgerald’s scoring streak of 227 games, which ended in 2021, and moved into first place all-time. Colquitt County was most recently shut out by Lowndes on Sept. 19, 2008, Colquitt’s first season under coach Rush Propst. Fourth-year coach Sean Calhoun has extended the streak 45 games. Colquitt is 179-49 in the 228 games of the streak. Seven of the 21 longest streaks in GHSA history are active, a function of more effective offenses this century. It was not until 1983 that a team scored in 100 straight games. That was Warner Robins during a 123-game streak from 1975 to 1984.
