Cambridge, a north Fulton County school that opened in 2012, is one victory from its first region title.

The Bears won their biggest game of the season last week, a 42-24 victory over then-No. 5 Kell, to take first place in Region 6-5A. Now a victory over Northview (1-7, 0-4) this week or North Springs (4-3, 1-2) on Nov. 4 would clinch it.

Head coach Craig Bennett and the senior members of the Cambridge football team received the state Team of the Week plaque on Oct. 19, 2022, at the school in north Fulton County.

“We’ve had ups and downs, and we were so close last year,” Cambridge coach and program founder Craig Bennett said. “It would be a huge accomplishment for these kids, the school and the community.”
