Week 7 Team of the Week: North Clayton

North Clayton is chasing its first region title since 2008 and got a historic victory last week by beating Stephenson 42-41. The game ended with a tackle on a Stephenson back at the North Clayton 1-yard line.

North Clayton coach Cap Burnett and the team’s captains are joined by principal James Scarborough, Marshall Hunter of Siemens, and Erin Kelly and Maurice Blanding of BSN Sports for the presentation of GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week award.

The Region 5-3A victory was North Clayton’s first over a top-10 opponent since 2009 and first over a top-five opponent since 1963. It put North Clayton (5-1, 2-0) within one victory of its first winning season since 2011.

North Clayton is GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week. The award, sponsored by BSN Sports and Siemens, will be presented to the team today at the school.
