Week 3 Team of the Week: Creekside

It wasn’t about revenge, Creekside coach Maurice Dixon said. Just respect.

Creekside beat DeSoto, Texas – ranked in the top 25 of four national polls – 70-28 after losing 70-0 to the same team last year in Texas.

Head coach Maurice Dixon and the Creekside Seminoles were joined by Trey Anderson of BSN Sports and Marshall Hunter of Siemens for the presentation of GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week award after their 70-28 victory over DeSoto, Texas.

It was the biggest one-year points turnaround for a GHSA team since the 1940s.

“Last year’s loss stayed with us, no question, and it fueled an offseason of growth,” Dixon said. “But Saturday wasn’t about settling a score. It was about showing who Creekside is right now.”

Creekside is 3-0 and ranked No. 2 in Class 4A. The Seminoles are GHSF Daily’s Team of the Week. The award is sponsored by BSN Sports and Siemens.
