Flag Football Player of the Week: Milton’s Alana Calhoun

Alana Calhoun, a senior wide receiver and safety at Milton, is GHSF Daily’s Flag Football Player of the Week, an award sponsored by Sports Turf. In six games, all Milton victories, Calhoun had 25 receptions for 356 yards and eight touchdowns, nine flag pulls, 15 passes defended and one interception. She had a touchdown reception and interception in Milton’s closest game, a 12-6 victory over Harris County. Calhoun has scored 54 touchdowns in her Milton career. She was the MVP of the Georgia Flag Football Coaches Association all-star tournament in January. She has nine offers to play flag football in college. She also competes in track and field and holds the Milton record in the girls triple jump. "Alana is a generational talent that has helped Milton become one of the premier flag football programs in the state," Milton coach Clark Nixon said.
